Brazil has been the world's largest producer of coffee for the last 150 years, currently producing about a third of all coffee. In 2011, total production was 2.7 million tonnes.
Papua New Guinea
Coffee production in Papua New Guinea accounts for approximately 1% of world production. Coffee is Papua New Guinea's second largest agricultural export, employing approximately 2.5 million people.
Mexico
The coffee production in Mexico is the world's 8th largest with 252,000 metric tonnes produced in 2009, and is mainly concentrated to the south central to southern regions of the country. The coffee is mainly arabica, which grows particularly well in the coastal region.
