How To Make Strong Coffee
For best flavour, using a French Press / Cafetiere:
Ingredients
Use high quality beans. Keep coffee in a cool dry place, for example an air tight container in a fridge. Use pre-ground coffee within a couple of weeks of opening the packaging, for best flavour.
Strength
We suggest around two heaped desert spoons of coffee per cup, depending on taste.
Water
Boil plenty of fresh water. Re-boiled water has reduced oxygen content and may impair flavour. Rinse out your cafetiere with freshly boiled water, to warm it. Add the required amount of coffee. Only pour the water into the coffee after around 30 seconds after coming off the boil. Pouring boiling water can burn the coffee, making it taste bitter.
Brew
Give the coffee a gentle stir, then leave to steep for 4 minutes. This time will allow all of the flavours to emerge, without over brewing.
Rinse out your cup with hot water, then pour and enjoy your perfectly brewed strong coffee.…
